TORONTO (July 15, 2019) – The 33rd Honda Indy Toronto is complete and what an incredible festival it was.
Thanks to you, our dedicated fans, the attendance has grown each of the last three years to experience this annual summer tradition in Toronto.
Most importantly, Honda Fan Friday presented by the Ontario Honda Dealers again supported of Make-A-Wish® Canada through voluntary donations from our spectators. Over $120,000 in total was raised as the generous contributions from race fans over the weekend were matched dollar-for-dollar by Honda Canada Foundation, Honda Canada’s national charitable arm.
“Thank you to all of our dedicated race fans and festival-goers for attending. What a weekend! We're thrilled by the generous contributions our fans have made in support of Make-A-Wish Canada" said Jeff Atkinson, president of the Honda Indy Toronto. “This festival especially wouldn’t be possible without the support of more than 400 volunteers.
“We watched some exciting competition from beginning to end in all 12 races. Both the Honda Indy Toronto on Sunday cheering Canada's own, James Hinchcliffe and Saturday’s Pinty’s Grand Prix of Toronto featuring the NASCAR Pinty’s Series had an equal amount of intense action,” Atkinson continued. “Thanks to the support of our partners and their activations, the festival experience continues to magnify. We really had something for everyone of all ages to enjoy.”
The official dates for the 2020 event will be announced in the next couple of months for the 34th edition of the Honda Indy Toronto at Exhibition Place.
