World-renowned porcelain artisan to craft victory awards for INDYCAR race
MARKHAM, Ontario (August 13, 2026) – The Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham is thrilled to announce Herend Canada as the official trophy supplier for the inaugural race weekend on August 14-16. Under this partnership, the world-renowned purveyor of handcrafted luxury porcelain has created the victory awards for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ podium finishers, bringing international prestige and artistic heritage to the inaugural event.
Herend’s association with high-stakes motorsports is globally celebrated, where the 200-year-old Hungarian manufacturer is famous in Formula 1 for designing and handcrafting the iconic porcelain victory trophies for the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring. Now, through Herend Canada, that same artisanal craftsmanship and luxury pieces will be awarded to Sunday’s top three finishers.
"We are incredibly honoured to be part of the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham as the official trophy supplier. At Herend, every piece is still handcrafted and individually hand-painted by our master artisans in Hungary, just as it has been for the past 200 years,” said Kristof Rubin, President of Herend Canada. “Knowing that these trophies will be presented to some of the world's best drivers makes this project especially meaningful for us. We hope every winner takes home not only a trophy, but a lasting piece of craftsmanship that celebrates an extraordinary achievement.”
Each bespoke trophy awarded during the race weekend will feature intricate hand-painted designs on Herend’s signature fine porcelain.
"When our drivers stand on the podium after a grueling battle on the track, they deserve an award that reflects the magnitude of their achievement," said Jeff Atkinson, president of the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy. "Herend porcelain trophies are globally recognized as some of the most prestigious and distinctive prizes in all of motorsport. Partnering with Herend Canada elevates our inaugural race weekend in Markham to an international standard, and we can’t wait to see our winners lift these magnificent pieces of art on race day."
